"Inside the church is a remarkable white glazed earthenware font by della Robbia depicting scenes from the Life of St. John the Baptist" [source:www.ilgalletto.net/CHIESE DEL MUGELLO.htm]
[NB: the font was reported in 1999 at the Museo di Arte Sacra di Vicchio, in Vicchio, in the Mugello valley, indicating as provenance the church itself, but also the Museo di San Marco in Florence, as well as the Museo nazionale del Bargello, also in Florence]. A good set of images of this font is available at: http://w3.newnet.it/filo/articoli/culturastoria/arte/cafaggiolocamoggiano/camofont.htm [accessed 25 May 2025]. This same source corrects the attribution to the Della Robbia workshop and informa that the assignation to the artist Benedetto Buglioni was established by Giancarlo Gentilini (1984); also that the work of Cristiana Acidini Luchinat (1988) apported documentary information for a dating ca. 1505.
