Font Notes:
Listed in Martín González (1970) as a medieval baptismal font ornamented with ribbed pattern. The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a moulding at the upper rim, a band of round arch-heads below, and a pattern of broad ribs all around the basin sides and underbowl; the inner well of the basin is also patterned with ribs but these are concave; some sides of the basin exterior are damaged and the motifs may have been unfinished, perhaps those sides that may have been intended to be hidden from view if the font was originally in a corner of the nave; the stone is weathered, due to either exposure to the elements or chemical reaction of some of the components of the stone it is raised on a truncated-cone shaped pedestal base that is totally plain. There is a single metal staple in the upper rim of the font, part of the cover locking hardware. This font is not a refined work.
