Described in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?, v. II**: 737); described and illustrated in Domeño (1992: 178 and fig. 196): baptismal font of the 13th century, early-Gothic style; the hemispherical basin has a roll moulding at the upper rim; the sides and underbowl are ornamented with ribbed pattern, almost like an arcade; the base is a quadrangular pedestal, plain at all sights [NB: the font is half embeded in the wall, so it is not possible to see all the outer surface]. The font has a tall octagonal wooden cover not common in Navarre [two others recorded in this area: Iturgoyen and Olejua]: the rim-buffet type with front panels open to give access to the basin well. [We are grateful to the Institución Príncipe de Viana and to photographers Larrión and Pimoulier for the images of this font; our thanks also to Andrés Ortega for the added image of this font] [cf. Index entry for Ugar No. 2 for a holy-water stoup of the 16th century in this church]
