A baptismal font made from a re-cycled oil-press recovered in a Roman villa ["il fonte battesimale è un frantoio recuperato da una villa romana"] [source: http://www.repubblica.it/speciale/2003/luoghicuore/2003/03/17/index16.html]. The obeject very much resembles a font of the Romanesque period: tub-shaped with tapering sides towards the bottom; devoid of ornamentation other than a thin groove all around, a few inches from the upper rim; one of the sides appears to have a drain about 2/3 down, but it has been cemented over. There are three metal staples in the upper rim, probably from an early cover.
