Baptismal font made by the Gagini family of sculptors [source: http://www.comunedipollina.it/gagini.htm]. The Museum informs: "Entrando nel Museo di Arte Sacra di Salemi troviamo al centro della prima stanza, un fonte battesimale che si presume sia stato realizzato dal Gagini intorno al 1464 per la Chiesa Madre di Salemi. Il fonte battesimale fu recuperato dalla stessa Chiesa dopo il terremoto del 1968. È realizzato completamente in marmo ed è arricchito da scalanature sia nella colonna sia nella pila circolare. Esso è decorata con bassorilievi raffiguranti quattro teste di angeli e due scudi rappresentanti, uno San Nicola di Bari e l’altro un’aquila."
