Although noted as the second of two stone baptismal fonts of the 16th century kept in this church; they are the work of local artisans in the "tequitqui" style. [source: www.jornada.unam.mx], the object is more likely a holy-water stoup, which appears in an illustration in Romero Quiroz (1967): a cylindrical basin with two bands of decoration between three parallel mouldings, raised on a plain circular stem and a moulded lower base.
