Described in Hernández Pérez (2001: 2) as a baptismal font in the Renaissance style originally made in Lisbon, Portugal, for export to the Canary Islands; the font was in place in this church by 1626 when bishop Juan de Guzman visited the site. This source (ibid.) gives the cost of the font and all the ancillary charges related to its importation and installation ["hechura, acarretos y asentamiento"] at 49, 296 "maravedís".
