Described in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?, V**: 77) [the two asterisks stand for the part number] as a baptismal font of the Gothic period, the 13th century, the date of the original church. It consists of a hemispheric basin ornamented on the outside with rather thin ribbed pattern, all the way to the bottom of the underbowl, much like the basin at Salinas de Oro, also in Navarra. The stem of the base is very short and thin, and ornamented with vertical mouldings. The lower base is the most interesting elemnt of this font and, perhaps, not an original part of it: it is a quadrangular block the sides of which are ornamented with crudely rendered human figures and foliage motif; on the front side, at the left corner, a figure blows a long straight horn; in the centre a larger figure [male?] appears to embrace a smaller one [female?]; at the right corner, a plant or tree; the sides of it appear to be broken. [We are grateful to Javier Torrens, of Pamplona, Spain, for the images of this font]
