Noted and illustrated in Valle Barreda (2009). The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [www.romanicodigital.com] describes a stone font of the Romanesque period: "En la iglesia parroquial gótica del Barrio de Costana de Salas se conserva, a los pies de la nave del evangelio y sobre un alterado basamento circular, una bella pila bautismal románica labrada a hacha, con copa aproximadamente cilíndrica de 84 cm de diámetro × 53,5 cm de altura, asentada sobr e un corto pilar cilíndrico y una basa de perfil ático de toro inferior aplastado y con lengüetas con fino plinto, de 29 cm de alto. Decora su frente con una estrecha banda de carnoso zarcillo sólo esbozado, bajo el que corre una arquería de medio punto sobre pilares de capitel tipo zapata insinuados." The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 28 February 2022] notes: "A la otra orilla del río Arlanza –barrio de Costana– hay otra iglesia, dedicada a Santa Cecilia, gótica, de tres naves [...] La pila es románica, de copa, con cenefa y arcos en relieve y base cuadrada". Baptismal font of the Romanesque period consisting of a large quasi-cylindrical basin with slightly rounded underbowl, the sides decorated with a blid arcade of round arches, and a vine around the upper basin side; the squat base has a scotia-torus-scotia combinattion, then a larger round moulding and finally a square lower volume with spurs or vegetation at the corners. There are two iron staples at opposite ends in the basin rim from the old font cover.
