Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) and in the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008) as a font probably of the 14th century; it consists of a plain bucket-shaped basin raised on two volumes: a short plain stem and a moulded lower base, both circular. The upper rim of the basin retains one of the metal staples of the old cover; where the other one had been, the stone is broken off. A very crude work not attributed to any particular workshop. Sáenz Rodríguez (ibid.) notes that the font was located earlier in a chapel at the west end of the nave, beneath the gallery, but it is now at the east end, in the presbitery [i.e., chancel], north side. [NB: another such font exists at the Iglesia de Santa Maria [aka San Anton], in the same village; cf. Index entry for Torrecilla en Cameros No. 2]
