Described and illustrated in López de Silanes Valgañón (2000) as a Romanesque baptismal font of the 13th century, in the same style as the font at nearby Sorejana [cf. Index entry for Cuzcurrita de Río Tirón/Sorejana]: large hemispherical basin decorated with an upper band of foliage motif and the rest of the basin side carved with deel broad ribs; the basin is raiused on a plain conical pedestal base with lower vertical sides. Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) and the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008) suggest it may have been the product of a workshop located in Santo Domingo de la Calzada and linked to the one known as Oja-Tirón workshop, of which it is typical example: hemispherical basin with vine decoration on the sides, the underbowl with ribbed pattern.
