Noted and illustrated in Ordieres-Díez (2005- ). The font consists of a hemispherical basin raised on a round pedestal base and a quadrangular lower base; the sides and underbowl of the basin are decorated with inscribed crosses, triquetra and flower motifs. It is a reconstruction of the original font using the surviving fragments; this is said to be the font in which Miguel de Cervantes was baptised. The Capilla del Oidor was badly damaged, partially destroyed, during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939); only the Torre de Santa Maria and a part of the Capilla survived.
