Font Notes:
Described in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?- , vol. IV**: 523); described and illustrated in Domeño (1992: 172 and fig. 193): medieval baptismal font; bucket-shaped basin ornamented with a band of nail-head motif just below the rim; the sides of the basin are ornamented with two rows of shallow-relief arcading; the upper arcade has three stylised inscribed six-petal floral motifs in the front three arches; plain cylindrical pedestal base; the lower base is made of a thick roll moulding with ball motif at 90-degree angles. Noted in the Enciclopedia del románico en Navarra (2008) as a baptismal font of a design that incorporates an arcade of round arches on capitals and pillars around the basin sides, such as those at Alzorriz, Cemborain, Grez, Idoate Lerruz, Najurieta, Oscariz, Reta and Zuazu. There is a B&W photograph [AGG-GAO_JSM01304] taken in June 1966 by Juan San Martin, in Gure Gipuzkoa [www.guregipuzkoa.eus/wp-content/gallery/juan-san-martin/10420.jpg] [accessed 7 June 2020]: "IRISMENA ETA EDUKIA: Ozkoidiko San Pedro Apostoluaren parroki-elizan dagoen bataiarria OHARRAK: Positiboaren atzekaldean, autorearen eskuz idatzia: "Pila bautismal románica de Ozcoidi" Izenburu formala gazteleraz". NB: an illustration of the portal of this church in the Enciclopedia del románico en Navarra (2008) shows the presence of a holy-water stoup outside, to the left of the entrance; it could be medieval, but we have at present no further information on this object and is therefore not listed in this Index]
