Additional Comments: damaged font: damage to the upper rim consistent with the removal of the cover hardware
Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in the Catálogo Monumental de Navarra (1990?- , v. III: 155 and pl. 217), and in Domeño (1992: 58, 155 and fig. 58): Gothic baptismal font of the 13th century; the hemispherical basin is ornamented with a blind arcade of trefoil arches all around; the CMdeN source image [which appears to be the same one displayed in Domeño] shows a basin lying on the ground and displaying clear evidence of damage and repairs to the upper rim. Another image source [Archivo Uranga photograph of ca. 1943], probably earlier, shows the basin mounted on a plain cylindrical base and a circular lower base; a flat wooden cover appears on it; the repair on one of the upper sides, at the rim, and the indentation on the opposite side are probably the result of the removal of the hardware of the original cover.
