Font Notes:
Listed in Bilbao (1996). Described and illustrated in Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) and in the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008) as a baptismal font probably of the late 12th century; the font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin divided into two decorative volumes: the upper, the sides really, has a beautifully rendered acanthus vine with round folds between two fillets; below, the underbowl proper, it has a ribbed pattern all around; the cylindrical stem has a torsade pattern all around; the lower base is moulded; the font appears to have been re-tooled. Sáenz Rodríguez (ibid.) notes that the font at Morales is almost identical to this one.
