Described in Bilbao (1996) as a footless baptismal font of the Renaissance period. The baptismal font consists of a polygonal basin with tapering sides decorated with scenes, symbols and motifs; on the front panel is the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan in a crowded scene: Christ in the centre, the Baptist on the right, the angel on the left and the Holy Ghost above; the panels are framed with slender columns ending up in crocketed pinnacles; the upper rim area is busily decorated with vegetal motifs and roll moulding, all very deteriorated. Contrary to Bilbao's statement [cf. supra] the font is raised on a large splaying octagonal base; it may have been semi-hidden in the flooring at the time [ca. 1996]. No cover present. An information notice posted on the font describes it as late-Gothic, ca. 1560, and mentions the Baptism of Christ on it.
