Described and illustrated in Le Patrimoine des communes de la Vienne (2002, v.1: 241) as an octagonal mounted baptismal font of the 16th or 17th century; the font consists of an octagonal basin mounted on an octagonal pedestal base, all plain; near the font is an object that looks very much like a small holy-water stoup, consisting of a square basin mounted on a square pedestal, both with the angles chamfered; the source mentions that these two objects, the font and the stoup are related ["sont associés"]; the remark may well indicate that these two objects were used in conjunction during the ceremony of baptism, as in a "detached" or non-constructional version of the French double-fonts of the period [Flohic ref. no.: 86060824]
