Described and illustrated in the Patrimoine des communes... l'Essonne (2002, v. 2: 732) as a round mounted baptismal font of the 16th century made of bronze [NB: the source dates it to the 16th and the 19th century, but it is not clear why; the cover appears to be of a later date, but whether or not is was re-made at a later date is not clear]. The shallow basin is ornamented on its side with a thin band of foliage motif, below which a pattern of ribs covers the underbowl; the presence of a key lock -supposedly for the cover- on the side would be rare for the early date; the pedestal base has chiefly fluted motif ornamentation, with foliage motif at the bottom where the pedestal splays out. The cover is very ornate: low dome with busy ornamentation and a finial made of a dial-like part containing the divine triangle, a double-cherub part, and a top finial with a complex cross [Flohic ref.: 91230708]
