Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in the Patrimoine des communes... l'Essonne (2002, v. 2: 709) as an hexagonal mounted holy-water stoup of the 12th century made of limestone; the basin has a deep scotia on the side, but is otherwise plain; the base is a polygonal [octagonal?] pedestal splaying at the bottom to a square shape; this stoup was originally at the chapel of the castle that existed in the old hamlet of Buno Castrum; this hamlet later merged with Bunovilla, the present bourg of Buno-Bonnevaux, and the stoup was moved to Saint-Léger, the parish church [Flohic ref.: 91230211] [NB: the shape and volumes of the stoup makes the assigned date in this source sound rather early; it would fit better a date in the 13th or 14th century]
