Baptismal font listed in Palissy [ref.: PM91000060]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] Fonts baptismaux avec un cuve en forme de navette et un pied en maçonnerie [...] 12e siècle [...] H = 112 ; la = 71 [...] Armoiries : écusson orné d'une fleur de lys (sur une des faces)". Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: AP91W00197]. Described and illustrated in the Patrimoine des communes... l'Essonne (2002, v. 2: 643) as an elliptical basin of the 12th century; two broad vertical bands at opposite ends of the basin: one has a negroid (?) head, the other, on the opposite side, a fleur de lis. It is mounted on a base made up of several blocks. The flat wooden cover appears modern [Flohic ref.: 91220702]. This same source mentions that the church at nearby Champmotteux has a similar font, but ornamented with small incised crosses.
***IT IS ODD THAT BOTH SOURCES DATE THIS FONT TO THE 12THC; SURELY IT BELONGS IN THE 15TH OR 16TH CENTURY***
