Described and illustrated in the Patrimoine des communes... l'Essonne (2002, v. 2: 643) as an elliptical basin of the 12th century; two broad vertical bands at opposite ends of the basin: one has a negroid (?) head, the other, on the opposite side, a fleur de lis. It is mounted on a base made up of several blocks. The flat wooden cover appears modern [Flohic ref.: 91220702]. This same source mentions that the church at nearby Champmotteux has a similar font, but ornamented with small incised crosses [NB: the font documented in Champmotteux [cf. Index entry for Champmotteux] does not, however, match this description -- to be resolved]
