Described and illustrated in the Patrimoine des communes... Charente-Maritime (2002, t. 1: 485) as a holy-water stoup of the 17th century; it appears to be made of four blocks of limestone, mostly quadrangular and shape and ornamented with mouldings; the upper base shows ribbed pattern. This same source identifies the nearby font as hexagonal and mounted on a columnar base; it is ornamented with an arcade and a baptismal scene [NB: the baptismal font is in the style of the 19th century and therefore not included in this Index] [Flohic ref.: 17171903]. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM17000907] as 18th-century and located in Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, not Saint-Jean-Baptiste.
