Listed in Palol (1967) as the only example of round sunken baptismal font reported in Italy in P. Testini's Archeologia cristiana (Rome. 1958). It is a baptistery in the Byzantine style built in this town in the late 8th or early 9th century, now attached to the 13th-century cathedral; the red limestone baptismal font still exists in its interior and is said to be the original.
