Three cruciform-shaped sunken fonts, one of them, the first in this list, illustrated in the English ed. of Vergara Caffarelli & Caputo (1966) with caption: "Byzantine cruciform font" [to be researched]
1. the font in the Severi/Severan basilica is located in a NW room; it is a cruciform sunken font of the 6th century for immersion baptism
2. the font at the basilica in the Forum vetus: the cruciform font for immersion baptism, also probably dated to the 6th century; the font is in the Baptistery building, 30 m. from the apse, in the paved area at the centre of the Vetus forum
3. in the third church, a small basilica located near the Severi colonnade, there is a baptistery at the NE angle; at the centre of the square baptistery there is a cruciform font; the central basin can be reached from the four arms, all provided with stairs
4?. a fourth baptistery may have existed in the Severi harbourd area; a building in that site is believed to have probably been a baptistery, although no positive identification of a font exists yet [source: Enrico Cirelli's "Lepcis Magna.
