Hemispherical mounted baptismal font, probaly of a composite nature; the hemispherical basin appears plain on the outside except for a few large stylised motifs in very shallow relief; the inside of the basin is ornamented with concave ribbed pattern looking quite skilfully done. There appears to have been several repairs to the basin, and there may be parts that are covered with cement or mortar, hiding some more motifs; since the major damage appears at opposite ends of the upper rim, it is probably the result of the removal of the iron staples of the cover. The basin is Romanesque, probably of the 12th century. The base consists of a short upper cylindrical pedestal ending down in a thin moulding; the lower half is octagonal, chamfered at the top. Oddly enough the lower half of the base has been sunk into a circular plinth which has been either hollowed to fit [badly] the base, or built around it [if it were concrete] [Our gratitude to Antonio García Omedes of www.romanicoaragones.com for bringing this font to our attention and for the images of the same]
