Font Notes:
Palol (1967) describes and illustrates a structure [piscina?] found in the Roman ruins of Coimbra; the object has a round centre core with two arms extending at opposite sides, looking much like many of the Early Christian fonts; the major differences are that there are no steps on the arms, and that the size is quite larger than the ones found in the Iberian Peninsula. Palol (ibid.) suggests that this may have been a baptistery but does state his reservations ["no sabemos, pues, si se trata de una piscina bautismal o de un simple ninfeo"].
