Described in Bilbao (1994: 31, 135) as a medieval baptismal font; the sides of the basin are ornamented with incised geometric motifs that Bilbao labels as typical of the Cuartango valley. [cf. Index entry for Miranda, Alava, for the base of its font, located in a public area of Z. de C. ["en la campa del antiguo balneario de Zuazo de Cuartango"] ca. 1994. Bilbao (ibid.: 30) suggests that the fonts at Arriano, Morillas and Zuazo de Cuartango may be by the same workshop or master. Bilbao (ibid.) cites entries in López de Guereñu and Portilla. The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/alava_ZUHATZU-KUARTANGO.pdf] [accessed 4 February 2023] describes and illustrates the 13th-century baptismal font here as one of the finest example of the Romanesque vessels in the Cuartango: "pila bautismal del siglo xiii, uno de los ejemplares más bellos del románico de Kuartango.
