Described in Bilbao (1994: 123) as a baptismal font of the late 12th century; plain basin raised on a base formed by a central column and four constructional shafts; lower base has concentric mouldings on the upper part and round arches on the sides. Bilbao (ibid.) cites an entry in the Catálogo Monumental de la Diócesis de Vitoria. The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/alava_LERMANDA.pdf] [accessed 5 August 2024] dates the building to the 16th century but describes the font as Romanesque: "El único vestigio románico conservado en el templo es la pila bautismal. Muy sencilla, consta de taza lisa, pie de núcleo central con cuatro columnas cilíndricas adosadas y basa común –con molduras concéntricas a las columnas de la parte superior– y arcos de medio punto a los lados." No cover presen but metal staples from an old cover evident in the upper rim.
