Described in Bilbao (1994: 52, 119) as a medieval baptismal font; the basin is ornamented with blind trefoil arches framed inside a round-arch windows, as well as hanging fleur-de-lis motifs; the stem of the base consists of a column with four mouildings. Bilbao (ibid.) cites an entry in the Catálogo Monumental de la Diócesis de Vitoria. Noted in Plazaola Artola (2008?). The entry for this church in MonumentalNet [https://www.monumentalnet.org/monumento.php?r=VI-009000700-GOR-IGL-ASU&seo=iglesia-de-la-asuncion-gordoa-asparrena-alava-pais-vasco] [accessed 17 April 2026] describes the font as Gothic: "La pila bautismal es gótica, la copa está decorada con arcos trilobulados entre flores de lis, el pie está formado por cuatro columnas apoyadas en una columna central." The present font is likely from the 16th-century re-building of the earlier, 13th-century church of which the portal remains.
