Described in Bilbao (1994: 118) as a Romanesque baptismal font. The entry for Gamarra Mayor in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/alava_GAMARRA_MAYOR_GAMARRA_NAGUSIA.pdf] [accessed 25 July 2024] reports the remains -basin and lower base- of a medieval font, but it notes that it is not located in the parish church, as it was found in a nearby farm and rescued by some neighbours, thus remaining now in private property; only the basin and base remain, the stem having been lost; the two pieces are decorated with a succession of mouldings as well as some inscribed floral motifs: "En Gamarra Mayor hay restos de una pila bautismal de época medieval, pero no se conserva dentro del templo parroquial, ya que fue encontrada en una huerta cercana y rescatada por unos vecinos del pueblo, en cuya propiedad se conserva.
