Scene Description: Source caption: "Los capiteles interiores muestran damas de estilizados rasgos y cubiertas con tocados de barbuquejo, decorados con incisiones que
forman siete bandas paralelas. En los capiteles centrales se representan rostros varoniles, enmarcados por cortas melenas, de ojos almendrados y facciones muy pronunciadas. En los dos exteriores se labra un tema animalista, muy repetido en el románico de Zigoitia y que transciende a otras zonas: el del carnicero con acusados rasgos de fiereza, mirando al frente con el cuerpo retorcido, y la cola elevada saliendo entre sus patas traseras".

Baptismal font listed and illustrated in López de Guereñu [https://photo.araba.eus/s/photoaraba/item/66040] [accessed 29 July 2024]: "Pila bautismal de la iglesia de San Pedro de Catadiano. Vista frontal de una pila bautismal románica; presenta una taza lisa, sin ningún tipo de decoración". The round pedestal and the round-to-square lower base appear to have some very eroded moulding and knob motifs on it. Described in Bilbao (1994: 114) as a plain medieval baptismal font. Bilbao (ibid.) cites entry in López de Guereñu. The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/alava_KATADIANO.pdf] [accessed 29 July 2024] reports a baptismal font in it: "El templo conserva también una sencilla pila bautismal medieval. Su copa, lisa, se apea en un pie cilíndrico, con moldura en la parte inferior. La base es cuadrada con abultamientos en sus vértices."
