Described in Bilbao (1994: 113) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Bilbao (ibid.) cites entry in López de Guereñu. The font consists of a roughly-hemispherical basin raised on a pedestal base. It is difficult to identify the apparent worn carving or patterns on the basin sides, perhaps even some avian shapes? The pedestal base itself may have clustered colonnettes but, again, our source does not allow for any clarity on the motifs. No cover present but there are metal staples for cover anchoring in the upper rim of the basin. [NB: the church here was built in the 18th century and we have found no record of an earlier church here; was the font, apparently medieval, brought from elsewhere? Could it have been originally in the Ermita del Lago in Caicedo Yuso?]
