Described in Bilbao (1994) as a plain medieval baptismal font. Bilbao (ibid.) cites entry in the Catálogo Monumental de la Diócesis de Vitoria. The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/alava_ALAITZA.pdf] [accessed 23 June 2024] mentions a medieval font. plain but painted with patterns/hues similar to those on the apse ["la pila bautismal, de corte medieval, con copa y pie lisos, también se decora con pinturas que podrían relacionarse con las del ábside"]. Baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin mounted on a plain cylindrical stem and a round-to-square lower base; the basin was painted and still retains some of the detail, among which, a vine just below the upper rim, a large fleurdelisé cross and other faint foliage motifs; there is a metal staple in the upper rim. The wooden cover, round, flat and plain, is modern.
