There is an entry for this Haseley [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SP2367/haseley/] [accessed 21 November 2014]; it reports a priest but does not mention a church in it, though there probably was one there. Lewis' Dictionary of 1848 reports "a curious font" in this church. Notices of the Churches of Warwickshire (1847, vol. 1) quotes Dugdale's Warwickshire, p. 496) as source for the date of the donation of this church between 1100 and 1135 by Anfride Hastang to the monastery of St. Oswald, Nostell, Yorkshire, but was later "confirmed to the Canons of St. Sepulchre, by Thomas de Cherlecote, lord of the manor"; the dedication is given in this source as the "Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin", and the font is noted: "The Font, which is appropietely placed at the west end of the nave, consists of an octagonal-shaped basin, set on an octagonal shaft and modern base; each face of the basin contains a plain sunk quatrefoil, within a circle, four of these quatrefoils contain roses. The font is, in date, of the fifteenth century." Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. The Victoria County History (Warwick, vol. 3, 1945) notes: "There was a priest at Haseley at the time of the Domesday Survey. [...] The nave is probably of 12th-century origin and the chancel of the 13th century. The west tower was added in the 15th century. [...] The font is octagonal, the bowl having a moulded lower edge; four adjoining faces from north-east to south have quatrefoiled circular panels with central roses; the other faces are plain: 15th-century."
