Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. XX: 25-26): octagonal sunken baptismal font discovered under the present cathedral; there are two sets of steps, with three steps each, visible, at an angle, each to the side of the broad water channel on the ground, although the other two angles are broken and may have had the same set-up [NB: a second sunken baptismal font of square shape was also found in the excavations of 1968; it is believed to be from an earlier period -- cf.
