Described in García Guinea (1998): Romanesque baptismal font; the basin is bucket-shaped, the sides decorated with a fighting scene between a lion and a dragon, crosses inscribed in circles and geometric motifs. G-G (ibid.) informs that the font is badly damaged and that it has been repaired with cement. This same source cites Hernando Garrido for a 13th-century dating. Martín Jiménez (2008) notes that the 13th-century font has deteriorated badly. One of the affected areas is the upper side between the two fighting beasts, damage that appears to be related to the removal of the cover staple at the upper rim. The cross-shaped inscribed symbols appear all over the sides of the font not occupied by the fighting beasts; some of them are foliated crosses. [NB: one of the extremities of the 'dragon' appears to be a human hand with five fingers]. The font is listed in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/palencia_POZANCOS.pdf] [accessed 16 May 2025]: "La pila bautismal se encuentra bastante deteriorada, con grandes grietas recogidas con hormigón moderno. Tiene forma troncocónica invertida y apoya directamente en el suelo sin ningún tipo de soporte. Posee decoración esculpida –de un relieve muy plano– en la que se representa el enfrentamiento entre un león y un dragón, además de varios círculos con cruces inscritas y distintos
motivos de carácter geométrico. Su tosquedad en la talla nos impide precisar su cronología, si bien la podemos considerar plenamente medieval (hacia el siglo XIII)."
