Font Notes:
The baptismal font of this church consists of a roughly hemispherical basin raised on a short round pedestal base; it appears totally plain. The wooden font cover is round, flat and plain; modern. In the same room as the font is a holy-water stoup that appears a composite object: a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a torus-scotia below the upper rim, raised on a square pedestal base decorated with mouldings. The 'Censo de los Obispos' of 1587 cited Salmoral with one baptismal font and 216 parishoners [source: www.salmoral.hypermart.net/historia/rcatol.htm].
