Described and illustrated in García de Paz' web site {URL below] as a holy-water stoup ornamented with the coat of arms of the Mendoza family. The basin is hemispherical and ornamented with a scotia under the rim; the sides are covered in a ribbed pattern on which stand out the shields with the coats-of-arms. The base is a columnar pedestal with square upper and lower ends. [NB: this same source informs that José María Azcárate de Ristory, in the 1983 Inventario Artístico de Guadalajara, dated the font and the stoup to the 16th century] -- [cf.
