Listed in Calderón Escalada (1971: 47) as a noteworthy baptismal font of the Romanesque period. [NB: this author lists Salcedillo with the Campoo locations, all of which are in the Santander province of Cantabria; Salcedillo is just shy of the Cantabria border]. [NB: the web site www.barruelo.com informs that the font at Salcedillo was listed in the Catálogo Monumental of the province done in the 1940s as one of the most noteworthy in the province; this same source states that the whereabouts of the font are now unknown]. An undated photograph of the interior of the church in the Salcedillo web site [https://sites.google.com/site/salcedillopalencia/home/iglesia] [accessed 11 November 2020] shows a stone basin by a stairwell [to the west gallery?]; given the surroundings it is presumably unused [NB: this object does not correspond to the descriptions of the original font in various sources].
