Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Perpendicular period. Described in Pevsner (1958): "Octagonal, Perp[endicular], the only decoration being a series of heavy horizontal mouldings on stem and bowl (cf. Meare, Weston Zoyland)." Noted in the Ancient Monuments Record, English Heritage [http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=267501] [accessed 10 September 2009]: "Octagonal lead-lined font, probably C14".
