Listed in Calderón Escalada (1971: 47) as a noteworthy baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in García Omedes [www.romanicoaragones.com] who identifies an inscription on the upper rim; the font is roughly tub-shaped cylindrical with a large roll moulding at the upper basin side; the sides are ornamented with with a stylised rib pattern; the font stands in a circular plinth. Local information [cf. infra] atributes the origin of this font to the Roman site of Juliobriga where, it is claimed, originally served as well-head. This information has not been corroborated and at least a part of it may not deserve credit since the basin appears to have its own bottom, which a well-head would not. Notwithstanding the antiquity of the church itself, the font is more likely of the 16th or 17th century. The basin of an old holy-water stoup is now mounted on a modern base at the west end, righ against the central support column of the gallery; it is roughly hemispherical in shape, with a torus around the upper rima and ribbed on the sides and underbowl; date unknown. [cf. Index entry No. 2 for another object listed in this church].
