Church Notes: 17thC church; modified 18thC
Baptismal font of stone consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with two bands of saw-tooth motifs framed between three rope mouldings; the thread goes forward on the upper and lower rope mouldings but backward in the centre moulding; all the teeth on the two bands point up; raised on a short cylindrical pedestal base and a circular plinth. No cover present but evidence of earlier anchorings appears on the upper rim of the basin. [NB: the font is probably from the Romanesque period, although the fabric of the present church is 17th-century -- was there an earlier church here, or was the Ermita de San Roque, now used as cemetery the original parish church here?]
