The Salopian Shreds and Patches (issue of April 13, 1881: 165) describes the font in this church: "The font is very massive, the basin is 2 ft. 6 inches in diameter and 1 ft. deep. It is octagonal. On one of the facets there is a rosette." Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Decorated period. Noted in Newman & Pevsner (2006): "Font. Late medieval. Octagonal bowl with a snowflake pattern (i.e., a cross?) on the E[ast] face."
