The church at Bromfield is mentioned in Domesday Book. Anderson (1864) notes that the "Saxon and collegiate church of St. Mary of Bromfield after the conquest became a regular monastic institution". Cox & Harvey (1907) lists its font as Early English. [NB: we have no information on the earlier font of this church]. No font mentioned in Newman & Pevsner (2006).
