Credit and Acknowledgements: We are grateful to Fernando Garcia Gil and to Txaro Irigoyen for their photographs of this stoup
Font Notes:
Holy-water stoup that appears to be of a composite nature: the hemispherical basin is decorated with a rope moulding at the upper rim, and has concave ribs below; it is raised on a quadrangular block that has figures in pairs on at least two of the sides, on a background of chequered pattern; at one of the angles there appears to be a standing angel; the two pieces are mounted on a chamfered quadrangular stone that has no obvious connexion to the above, and the basin and the block with the figures would not belong together originally either; the whole is probably a composite arrangement of a later date. [cf. Index entry for Arroyo No. 1 for the baptismal font in this church]
