Described in Kortadi (2000?) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period ornamented with geometric motifs. The Auñamendi Eusko Entziklopedia [www.euskomedia.org/aunamendi/141003/12480] [accessed 15 March 2015] reports a baptismal font of the 13th century here. The polygonal basin appears to have sixteen (?) plain sides which continue down the tall chamfered underbowl and end in a moulding decorated with a geometric X-based pattern; the font is much damaged, both at the upper rim and on the underbowl; it was a rather crude object and its antiquity may be exaggerated; it has recently been mounted on a wooden block, but was resting directly on the ground in an earlier photograph [see also the Index entry for Cegama No. 2, a holy-water stoup of the same period in this location]
