Described in Kortadi (2000?) as a Gothic baptismal font ornamented with astral motifs. Noted with same dating in Plazaola Artola (2008?). Described as 17th-century in www.zerain.com/esp/eskaintza_andramaria.php [accessed 28 February 2009] ["pila bautismal del siglo XVII. Se trata de una pieza labrada en piedra con numerosas imágenes: el escudo de armas de Zerain, el sol, un león, un racimo de uvas, la luna..."]. The font consists of a dodecagonal basin that is plain on the upper half, but rounded and with very large deeply-carved motifs and symbols [arms of Zerain (?), sun, moon, lion, bunch of grapes, etc.] around the lower half; flat underbowl; raised on a cluster of columns, a broad central shaft with attached outer colonnettes with moulded bases that merge into a quadrangular lower base; basin and base may be of two different dates, the base older, perhaps 14th-century. The font is located by the stairs that lead to the west gallery. The present church itself dates from the 15th century, and there appears to have been a church here since the 12th-13th century, of which a metal processional cross has survived.
