Editor: Fondo Arantza Cuesta Ezeiza Gipuzkoa". Baptismal font of stone consisting of a round basin decorated with a pattern of concave ribs all around; the main (?) panel is larger than the others and has three round arch-heads atop; the other panels are trefoiled at the top; all panels have motifs or symbols in them, inscribed in circles; the main [cf. supra] panel has an anagram of Christ, and it is framed by two interlaced crosses in the side panels; the spandrels of the ribbed pattern have also encircled motifs in them; the round pedestal base has a similar pattern to that on the basin, including the encircled motifs. The font is now raised on an additional volume, a lower base and plinth that does not appear in earlier photographs of the font. There is no cover present. There is damage to the upper rim and some of the sides. Contrary to some stated local claims to ancient dates [cf. supra], the font is probably well into the Gothic period, a fairly crude local work; the early dating may have been focused on the interlace crosses, common in Romanesque art, but, as Bond (1908) insists, the dating of a work must follow the latest-date motifs on it, not the earliest.
