Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Norman period. Newman & Pevsner (2006) note that some of the walls of Old St. Laurence collapsed after Pevsner visit ca. 1958. Presumably the font had been moved to the new 19th-century church of the same dedication, but this one was declared redundant in 1972 and it is now a private residence. In their entry for Culming, Neman & Pevsner (2006) note: "Font. Norman. Circular with an odd frieze of blank arches. It originated in Burwarton old church." [NB: the church of Culmington is noted in Anderson (1864) as existing in tax assessments of 1291, but we have no information on the original font of this church]
