Font Notes:
Kelly's Directory of 1901 reports "an ancient font" in this church. Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a baptismal font of the Norman period. [NB: a broken square vessel raised on a quadrangular pedestal block is illustrated inside the Church of Hyledd at Llanhilleth, near Pontypool; the object is badly damaged and missing one whole side. Not known whether or not this is the Norman font referred to in Bond].
