There are two entries for Arnesby [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SP6192/arnesby/] [accessed 24 July 2015], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. A baptismal font here is noted and illustrated in Upcott (1818). Listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as a noteworthy baptismal font of the Norman period. The font consists of a a bucket-shaped basin with a broad flat moulding at the top, on a circular base chamfered at the top end. Pyramidal wooden font cover; Victorian.
